Margaret Dixon

Dixon's newest and oldest member, Margaret Dixon, was honored after church services Sunday, January 10, 2010 with a 90th birthday party at Dixon School.

Margaret has been attending services at Dixon for the past several years, and officially moved her church membership here in December 2009.

Members and guests attending worship service went across the street to the school (fellowship center) immediately following worship and enjoyed deli sandwiches and birthday cake. Special guests were Margaret's daughters, Jenny Clapp and Patricia Blanton, great granddaugher Bethany Blanton and special friends Nancy and Timothy Holmes, Bobby and Maybelle Strange, and Pattie and Anna Grace Hughes. Jenny drove all the way from New York to help her mother celebrate her birthday.

Margaret is still very active in the church and community. She teaches Sunday School and leads Bible Study for the Women of the Church, and once filled the pulpit during worship service. She often takes care of persons who are recovering from surgery or facing some type of crisis.

She reads the Bible through every year.

"I am very grateful for everything the church did for me," Margaret said.
